I've been such a good girl ( saying this makes me want to sing Shakira's song Underneath your clothes, "FOR BEING SUCH A GOOD GIRL HONEY", anyone? LOL ). I've been really good when it comes to spending these past months. I stopped
myself from buying unnecessary things but I know that this habit would not last forever, sometimes you just gotta treat yourself with some goodies. Do you agree? :D Today, I'm sharing you the things I bought recently. I was feeling spendy at Sephora few weeks ago so I bought some Nars beauty products. I also bought myself some lifestyle essentials.
Aphrodite of MilosHi guys, how are you? Hope you are all doing great! I haven't post on the blog but today I feel inspired (breaking out of the blogging rut). I know many of us were heartbroken about what happened in Paris. I am sincerely hoping for peace not just in France but in the whole world especially countries in Europe, Middle East Asia and Africa that are currently having terrorist crisis. Anyway, back to the main topic of this post, I want to continue talking about my experience at the Louvre.
* This is a continuation of my travel post on the Louvre, here's part I : PARIS TRIP: THE LOUVRE PART I
If there is one place I wish I had more time to visit, it's this beautiful museum. Louvre is more than just the pyramid structure you see outside. A collection of treasures from different parts of the world are displayed inside. I don't think you have to be an art or history lover to appreciate the place. I admit that my knowledge in history is limited but my boyfriend is a history buff, therefore the place is like a "heaven" for him. A day is not enough to see everything inside the museum but I don't think a person would love to stay there the whole day. You'll need a break because it could be an overwhelming place even for an art enthusiast! I believe that it is a place that you have to visit more than once and spend an adequate time each tour.
Hi guys, today, I like to share what I have been loving for the month of October. Can you believe we're almost at the end of the year? Are you starting to hear Christmas songs at the mall? I used to work in a store where they play Christmas songs right after Halloween! lol I'm not complaining because it's the happy time of the year! On a different note, I'm quite proud of myself for being active on the blog lately. I'm taking advantage of my free time before I hit the books for my finals in December. Anyway, let's now talk about my favourites last month before I bore you.
It's time to share the third part of our day trip to the Palace of Versailles! This is by far my favourite part of our tour. I was impressed by the main palace's grandeur, fell in love with the magnificent gardens but my visit to the Trianon Palaces and the Queen's Hamlet tops them all. If you have more time, don't miss out on these parts of the estate. They also play a huge part of the royal history of France and there are many incredible things waiting for you to discover, they are not just a drop in the bucket of the Palace. :) My boyfriend visited Versailles before but only had the chance to see the main palace and he (a hard to please type of person) was impressed to see these other parts in the domain of Versailles. We bought a 1 day passport ticket for €25 each person and it gives you an admission to all the places except for some guided tours. It's €15 for a ticket if you only want to see the main palace, but the additional €10 is really worth it. We are absolutely spellbound by the beauty of it all!
When it comes to skin care, I love trying new things in the market. As they say, variety is the spice of life, is it not?It was a blessing in disguise because my moisturizers (NeoStrata Moisture Infusion Hydrating Cream and Nivea Sensitive Day Care Moisturizer which by the way are amazing on the skin ) were almost finished when I received these products from Racinne. Have you heard of this brand before? I did some research about their skin care product lines and I am really impressed. It's a Korean Skin Care Company that utilizes highly refined skin care technology. You can check their very own website here.
Fall is a beautiful season that fills our senses with so many beautiful things. It's a season I always look forward to every year because there's many holidays or events that are celebrated such as Thanksgiving, Halloween and you start to feel the Christmas spirit. Before this beautiful season ends, I want to share the little things I love the most about fall or autumn:
I love fall so much despite the cold weather because everything looks so beautiful, the red and orange branches of trees look so lovely! Drinking hot chocolate and tea feels more special. And of course, dark bright lips - berry, mauve and plum colors are on trend. In addition to my new Arbonne lip products, I have more lipsticks in my collection that I love to wear during this season.
On my previous travel post on the blog, I mentioned that we skipped the main palace and visited the gardens to beat the crowd. I was worried about the weather that day because the sky looked dark in the morning. Luckily for us, the sun came out and smiled upon us before noon! If you see the garden, you'll wish nothing but a good weather in order to enjoy it! I love the Palace but the gardens and park of the Palace of Versailles are something much more for me. I love nature and beautiful scenery, that's why when I saw the beautiful yard, I was completely mesmerized! It was just what I imagined, it was perfect! I am a bit sad that we did not see everything, it was a massive place that requires a lot of time to be explored. We wanted to visit the smaller palaces, therefore, there's a time constraint in visiting each part of the estate. There's a 2 Day passport ticket you can buy to fully enjoy your trip to the Palace of Versailles.
Fall is the season for darker shade lipsticks! It's the time of the year when deep berry, mauve and red lipsticks shades are celebrated. To my delight, someone from a PR company asked me if I would like a product to sample from Arbonne's Makeup Fall collection. And because I am a make-up lover, I said yes and for your information, this is not sponsored post nor they asked me to review these products on my blog. They sent me a lipstick and a lip gloss while I was only expecting just one product. Anyway, without further ado, here are my thoughts about these lip makeups:
Place d'Armes, Palace of Versailles, 78000 Versailles, France
Our trip to the Palace of Versailles was one of the highlights of our stay in Paris. I had doubts about visiting because of the negative comments which is mostly about the frustrating crowd I heard or read from others but it turned out to be one of the best part of our entire trip to Europe. The Palace is surely one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. It is well worth a visit as it is fascinating with incredibly wonderful buildings and gardens (I'll talk about the gardens on my next travel post) with spectacular fountains and statues steeped in history. If you're looking for an astounding place filled with art, beauty and wealth, you shall visit the palace. History lovers will surely love a tour! In 1979, UNESCO designated the Château de Versailles a World Heritage site because of the historical events that are associated with it. A visit to the palace will surely render you tired but in a good way. :)
The Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-place Makeup is a foundation I truly love. I know this is a popular choice but it really deserves the hype. If you want a flawless appearance, this foundation might just be the one you need because it provides a heavy coverage that covers many skin flaws. Oh, that was something I wasn't too keen on while I was reading reviews online, I thought this would feel so heavy on the skin but this foundation is lighter than what I expected. It's comfortable to wear and not cakey. I remember using Revlon's Colourstay foundation in the past and it was a lot heavier. This foundation covers acne scars, pores and even dark circles around the eyes.
Here's the first of the many Europe trip posts on my blog! As I mentioned before, I just came back from Europe and I was really excited to share my experiences on the blog. I decided to talk about this travel into different parts rather than a huge article. There is just a lot of amazing things to cover on this trip! Our first destination was Paris, France. Ah Paris, je t'aime et tu me manques beaucoup! The city of romance definitely lived up to my expectations. Paris is surrounded by art and beauty. I really fell in love with this city and I'm going to start this travel series with one of my favourite landmarks, the Eiffel Tower. Like a child,my eyes widened at the sight of it!
Our lovely neighbor gave us some fresh vegetables from her garden. She gave us a bunch of kale leaves and we didn't really know what to do with it. I remember from watching Mimi Ikkon videos on youtube that she bakes kale into chips which was a brilliant idea to try myself since because it seems so easy. Kale chips are not just delicious but also healthy. Kale is rich with vitamins such as beta carotene, vitamin K and C. The perfect snack you can serve to your family , my little sister loves it!
Hi guys, I'm sorry that I didn't post on my blog for many weeks now. I just got back from a trip to Europe hence I talked about travelling on my blog weeks ago. I'm really excited to share you my travel experiences! Anyway, today's blog post is not yet about that but a product I absolutely love!
As you already know, I went to the Philippines a month ago. Although, I didn't have the chance to visit the beautiful beaches in the country, my cousins brought me to the mall. The big malls in Asia are fantastic, they have brands from all over the world! They have so many beauty sections at their department store and ofcourse I saw some Japanese and Korean Cosmetics. K palette products caught my eyes because I remember reading many good reviews about their eyebrows make-ups. Therefore, K Palette Real Lasting Brow Liquid Pen went home with me in Canada! Even though I love Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade, I tend to overdo it on my eyebrows and end up with an awful look sometimes. I'm so happy I found something better! Here's why:
Hello! I'm glad to finally have a new post on my blog. Life has been kind of busy for me and I also got sick but I am now feeling better. Today, let's talk about travelling or exploring! As a family, we love to explore places in our province (Quebec, Canada) and nearby areas. Since we have kids (siblings) at home, we always try to do some activities especially during the summer. This ignited the wanderlust in me and inspired me to explore different parts of the world. One thing I want to accomplish before I die ( exaggerated, I know) is to visit my dream destinations on Earth. My boyfriend loves to travel too, he actually gave me a travel book last Christmas (book above)! We hope to have the opportunities to travel someday. I would love to see these glorious places we see in pictures in real life and learn other cultures. Right now, I don't have the privilege to explore all of my dream places but I'm giving myself a lifetime (it means until I get old lol) to do so because there are other priorities in life that I have to worry about too. I hope that I'll be able to keep up with this blog so I can share some interesting adventures. It's not easy to make this all happen but hey, it's okay to dream right?
Hi guys, I apologize for my 2 weeks of absence on the blog. I had a short trip in the Philippines but unfortunately, it wasn't for fun. My dear grandmother sadly passed away. It was an unhappy moment for our family but we are thankful that she had her last days on Earth peacefully. My dad and I stayed there for 11 days. Our time was mostly spent in the province while we spent 3 days in Manila. And because this trip does not have a purpose of leisure, I didn't have the chance to take pictures and explore places as much as I wanted to but here's some I can gladly share. I hope to go back again someday!
My everyday make-up routine is pretty simple and I thought it would be nice to share which products I'm currently reaching for on a daily basis. I like to keep my everyday look simple because I don't always have the time to make a more dramatic look and natural is always great specially during the summer.
Hi guys, it's Monday and you are probably already wishing for the weekend to come. Let's talk about something that you can add into your lifestyle to have a more positive mindset. One of my best-friends first introduced me to Yoga, we attended few classes and I learned the basics. What I love about yoga is that you only need a mat as an equipment or sometimes you don't need it at all. It can also be done anytime of the day. I love doing Yoga in the morning or before going to sleep. The feeling I get after a Yoga session is such a bliss to my body and mind. I don't practice it daily but I'm trying to make it a part of my lifestyle.
First of all, I want to thank you for following my blog. I've reached more than 100 followers on Bloglovin! Yayy! Thank you so much guys, it means so much to me that some people are actually reading my blog. :) I hope you really do! *wink wink It has been 6 months since I started my own little space online. The big question: Do I love blogging? I do! I do! I absolutely love it but I learned that it is not something so simple like what others think, it's something that needs more effort in order create something on the blog. So today, I thought it would be nice to share you some of the things I do or think as a new blogger.
Hi guys, how's your summer so far? The weather here in Montreal is quite moody. It was cold and raining all day yesterday. Oh summer, where art thou? Anyway, when the sun is out and shining bright, I like to have a subtle eye make-up with a bright lipstick.
Hi guys, how are you? I apologize for my absence in the blogging world. My family recently move into a new place hence we were really busy. I was so occupied helping my parents with the renovation and moving our stuffs. Until now, there's still lots of things to do! Anyway, I'm excited to start decorating my new room which is slightly bigger than my previous one. Yayy!
Hi guys, hope your weekdays went well and now enjoying a cup of coffee or having a nice Saturday errands! This is a continuation of my post last Wednesday because I'm reviewing lip products (again lol). I think I'm in a hoarding lip products phase right now and here's another two that I recently bought from the drugstore:
A new lipstick in my stash is this Make-up Forever Rouge Artist Natural Moisturizing Soft Shine Lipstick in N10 ($23CAD) My boyfriend and I sometimes have these silly just for fun "bets" or random trivia questions and who ever wins will get a price. It's kind of a win win situation in my part because the only thing he asks as a reward is for me not to be "moody" for a week or so ( I'll be moody and can't help it anyway hehe... girls will be girls right?), while I usually ask for something fun. I sweetly asked him to buy me a lipstick as a price. I was going to get another MAC lipstick (I love MAC lipsticks!) but I thought of trying one from a different brand.
We all want to have that glowing skin from within, don't we? So, when I saw this Josie Maran Argan Enlightement Illuminizing Veil ($36.00CAD) at Sephora, I immediately swatch it on my hand and I fell in love with it, there is something about the lighting at Sephora that makes make-up swatches look more special. Of course, it went home with me that day and now's the time for a review! Was my initial reaction still the same after a month of using this Josie Maran highlighter?
Hello!Today's post won't be about make-up but about some updates I want to share with you. I am kind of sheepish having the title above for this post because I'm think no one would care about my life lately kind of posts. Don't get me wrong, I love this type of posts of other bloggers, they're actually one of my favorite topics to read especially if you're one of my most-liked bloggers. But I'm not sure if anyone would be interested on mine. :D By the way, the picture of flowers above are my anniversary flowers from my wonderful boyfriend. We recently celebrated our two years together :) Aren't they beautiful?
My skin is actually harder to maintain during spring time. My seasonal allergy is the culprit of my dry and dull skin around my nose and cheek areas. Those who are suffering from their allergy, I feel you guys! :( It's a serious matter to have congested nose and itchy eyes. I blow my nose frequently which irritates and dry my skin and therefore I need to moisturize my face more than usual! Thankfully, there are products I could use to help me fight this "dryness" caused by this allergy. Luckily, none of these products broke me out. Even though I had few pimples, I'm pretty sure it was cause by hormonal imbalance due to the red army that comes every month exclusively to women (you know what I mean!) and due to stressed from having my finals. Anyway, enough of my blabbers (lol). let's get on these products!
Along with eyeshadows, lip products are my favourite part of my make-up collection. Right now, I'm all about having healthy looking lips. I feel a great deal of physical discomfort whenever I have dry lips, forgetting my lip balm when I'm outside the house is such a nightmare. You know when some people forget their cellphones? That's how I feel like when I don't have a lip balm with me. So, finding some good quality lip products that I could carry around with me all the time makes everyday life a little better, just kidding. But really, a simple thing like this makes a difference in your everyday routine right?
I rarely wear red lipstick. I have always been self-conscious when I wear one outside the house and I wish to be able to pull it off with confidence someday. Girls who wear it without fuss, I admire you! I don't own many red lipsticks, I only have 2 or 3 bullets in my make-up collection and the only red lipstick I like so far is "Russian Red" from Mac. Russian Red is a cult favourite among beauty bloggers. Is it worth the hype? In my opinion, it's a very nice red lipstick. I bought it in lieu of "Ruby Woo" because Ruby Woo has a really dry formula. This lipstick has a matte finish and very pigmented, the colour payoff is so rich! It has a slightly drier formula than Mac's Velvet Teddy which is also a matte lipstick. But don't worry, as long you put a lip balm beforehand, it will not cause your lips to chap.
Another season change is taking over, the weather is slowly getting warmer and days are getting longer. Are you guys excited? I love spring except the seasonal allergies I get at the time but nevertheless I still enjoy this lovely season every year. What are you guys excited about besides the warmer weather? I am excited about many things and here are some I am especially looking forward to:
Hello again! I apologize for the lack of posts these past few weeks but life has been kind of hectic. I'm excited that I can finally share my recent make-up purchase which I already mentioned on my previous post. Let's give a round of applause to the Tarte's Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette! I saw this palette at Sephora around first week of February but I didn't really pay much attention into it because I was eagerly waiting for the Nars' NARSissist Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the Nars' palette. I didn't really like the color selection of eyeshadows in the palette and I wasn't ready to pay 90$ for something I'm not completely crazy about. My attention then gravitated towards the Tarte eyeshadow palette. Luckily, they still had few left when I went back to buy it in the store. This is a limited edition, so hurry up and grab yourself one if you find this up right your alley.
Can you believe that we're already in March? Oh well, life has been pretty good so far, life problems are still manageable. My make-up shopping habits has been good too, no random buying of make-up last month! I've been good when it comes to buying beauty products because most of my money these past two months of the year went to another section of things I love, clothing and accessories.:D I only bought one make-up product in February which I will talk about on my next blog's post.
How do you cope when life is busy? It's going to be my study break but it's sadly not going to be a relaxing week since I still have to go to work and there are more midterm exams coming up in March. So today, I decided to unwind and take a walk around the park with my siblings since the weather was quite nice (still cold but not very cold). It seems that winter won't be over soon so I guess we just have to deal with it whether we like it or not. And in order for us not to be grumpy about it, we gotta get out of the house and appreciate the beauty of our surroundings.
It was also a great chance for me to take photos and practice using my new DLSR camera. I love photography, if you read my previous post, I mentioned that I always wanted to do something creative. Photography became something that I love to do last year. It really makes me happy taking pictures! I haven't really figured out how to shoot ideally with the "manual" option yet. I wanted to learn it because many people emphasize the importance of using the manual mode to get the best shots.
Today's post will consist of some things about me as I answer some questions from Liebster Award. I was nominated by Samantha ( Samantha Series ) and Aissa ( Tea in January ). Thank you girls! I wasn't really familiar with this award but I'm happy I got nominated. I think this is a great way to spread the love among other bloggers.
Valentine's Day is just 2 days away, are you planning to go on a date with your boyfriend, husband or girlfriends? In my case, my boyfriend and I don't really have a plan yet but luckily, we both don't have work and school therefore we'll be able to celebrate this special day. One good thing about Valentine's day is that it enables me to use my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette which has been put aside lately. I love this palette so much, it's the perfect romantic eye shadow palette because of its rosy shades. I just prefer using one of my other eye shadow palettes in the last couple of weeks, hence my abandonment for this naked palette.
Let's talk about my winter skin care warriors! As you might already know, I live in a very cold place, our temperature could go down to -30 to -40 ºC (feels like) which is really harsh for the skin even though we wrap ourselves with a lot of layers. Dry skin is inevitable, thus, using hydrating and moisturizing products is a must. Thankfully, I was able to find products that are affordable.

Hi! I apologize for not being able to post anything on my blog for almost a week. Unfortunately, I got sick and I was suddenly unmotivated these past few days but I'm happy to be back again.Today, I want to share some gift ideas for your significant other or your other loved ones. Remember, you don't have to buy expensive gifts. It's always the thought that counts. In the past, I have given my boyfriend a picture frame with a picture of us and a memory box that didn't cost me a lot of money but he was really touch by my simple gestures. These are just some ideas in case you don't mind spending money.
Have an amazing week! ♥
These body butters from Body Shop are on my list of guilty pleasures, they are my winter dry skin saviors! My skin gets really dry during the colder months and therefore moisturizing is a must! No one wants to have flaky skin right? Body butters usually have a thicker formula compared to body lotions, hence I don't really use them in the summer. These are quite expensive when you buy them on their regular prices, but Body Shop stores always have promotions going on. I got these for 50% off which is quite a deal considering that the regular price for one is 20$. Gladly, these body butters moisturize my skin really well which I think, makes the prize really worth it! Now, let's talk about these goodies one by one.
I love statement pieces that I can incorporate into my wardrobe. Accessorizing is important because it can make a supposed to be a dull outfit look more interesting. In my opinion, a girl should have at least one statement piece of jewelry, that detail you add into an outfit could make a difference!
This month's essentials include a soundtrack to listen to when I'm bored on the train on my way to work or school. We all need that song that could lift up our souls right? We are currently having a cold winter here in Montreal and music helps me a lot to overcome some winter blues. What are your favourite songs at the moment?
I have been eyeing this lipstick for a while now and I'm so glad that I finally bought it. No regrets! because I adore this lipstick! First of all, I love the name of this lipstick, Velvet Teddy. The name is so endearing, is it not? Long story short, I was not really a fan of nude lipsticks in the past because most of them washed me out. I saw some girls wearing this lipstick on Instagram and I thought that it was such a pretty nude color that will probably work on my skin tone too.
